Olympus Aquatics Triathlon will be honored to offer 50 free USA Triathlon Memberships to the first 50 athletes in the club for 2020.
I have some really exciting news for our Olympus Aquatics family! Starting in February, Olympus Aquatics will add the sport of Triathlon! When we originally formed Olympus Aquatics, it was always my wish to add Triathlon as a sport at some point in time. Last summer I was able to connect with many of you at local triathlons and I realized that the time to add Triathlon is now!
Why now? USA Triathlon recently moved their High School Triathlon Championships to Arizona, and our club has the athletes to be very competitive. Triathlon is also now designated as an NCAA emerging sport for women which means athletic scholarship opportunities. As you look around the pool at Olympus High School, many of our current athletes, coaches and parents are already experienced triathletes. This feels like the perfect time to build from our community.
In addition to providing coaching and training opportunities for our athletes, Olympus Aquatics is working directly with USA Triathlon and race organizers to create a first-of-its-kind High School Triathlon league right here in Utah.
Our first athlete and parent meeting will be Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at 6:00 PM at the Olympus High School Pool. Until then, join us on the following social media sites as we share more information over the coming weeks about coaches, the team’s website, a parent meeting, athlete clinics, the national championships and more!
Sincerely Excited,
Olympus Aquatics Triathlon is part of the Olympus Aquatics family of programs (USA Swimming Swim Team, US Masters Swim Team, USA Water Polo, Orca and Swim Training developmental Swim Teams) and a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization based out of Salt Lake City, Utah working to support the mission of developing an aquatic lifestyle in our community.
